ResponsibilitiesSupervise, coordinate, and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices.

This includes investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and softwareProvide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including evaluating system utilization, monitoring response time, and providing primary support for detection and correction of operational problemsTroubleshoot the physical level of the network using network measurement hardware and software, and by physically checking and testing hardware devicesTroubleshoot at the logical level, working with communication protocolsParticipate in planning, design, technical review, and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networksMaintain network infrastructure standards, including network communication protocols such as TCP/IPProvide technical consultation, training, and support to IT staff as designated by the governmentOversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure.Develop and enforce infrastructure policies, procedures, and standards to ensure system reliability and security.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess infrastructure needs and integrate new technologiesMonitor infrastructure performance and proactively address any issues to ensure optimal operation.Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and services.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for IT systemsCoordinate disaster recovery planning and execution to safeguard critical data and operationsDevelop and manage budgets for infrastructure projects and operational expenses.Provide strategic input for long-term infrastructure planning and capacity managementOversee the implementation of network security measures to protect against unauthorized accessConduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and innovation.Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to identify potential opportunities for enhancement QualificationsEducation and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or seven (7) years of experience in the field.Preferred Certifications and Skillset:Microsoft MSCE, Windows Server OS, IIS, PowerShell, System Center Operation and Configuration ManagementMicrosoft Azure AdministrationMicrosoft Azure DevOpsAWS Certified SysOps Administrator – ProfessionalVMware Data Center Virtualization (DCV) – Design or DeployNutanix Platform Expert (NPX)IBM BigFix Lifecycle AdministrationFoundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) v3 or higherCompTIA Security+ Certified ProfessionalCommunication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.Security Clearance: Public Trust Tier 2 security clearance - Moderate risk (formerly MBI Level 5B).
