We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Superintendent to oversee the mechanical scope of work on wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) projects. This position requires extensive field supervision of piping, equipment installation, HVAC, and process mechanical systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in public infrastructure projects, particularly in water/wastewater treatment facilities, and thrives in a fast-paced, safety-driven construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all mechanical aspects of construction on WWTP, Lift Station and Pump station projects from mobilization to commissioning.

Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and internal field crews to ensure mechanical work is executed per schedule and specifications.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and project-specific quality control procedures.

Read and interpret mechanical plans, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, and shop drawings.

Work closely with the Project Manager to track progress, forecast manpower and equipment needs, and manage mechanical budgets.

Lead site meetings related to mechanical scope, including coordination with civil, structural, and electrical disciplines.

Conduct inspections to verify installation accuracy, adherence to standards, and progress milestones.

Manage RFIs, field changes, punch list items, and commissioning/startup coordination.

Mentor field staff, enforce company policies, and promote a culture of safety and accountability.

Qualifications:

Minimum 7+ years of mechanical field experience on public works projects, with at least 3 years as a superintendent on WWTP or similar infrastructure projects.

Proven experience in managing installation of piping systems, pumps, blowers, HVAC systems, chemical feed systems, and other treatment plant equipment.

Strong knowledge of means and methods of mechanical construction.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and submittals.

Solid understanding of OSHA standards and site safety practices.

Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

Proficient in field documentation, scheduling, and use of construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).

OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid certifications preferred.

Ability to work onsite at job locations with variable hours as needed.
