Summary

A growing, mission-driven engineering firm is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to oversee HVAC and plumbing design projects that improve life through a better built environment. Projects span healthcare facilities, research labs, municipal buildings, and educational institutions—with average construction values of $20–$30M.

This is a leadership-level role that blends technical design, project management, mentorship, and client engagement. Ideal for someone who is passionate about sustainable design, ready to take ownership of complex mechanical systems from concept through construction, and ready to step into a manager role.

What You'll Do:

Lead the design and specification of HVAC and plumbing systems for diverse building types

Manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously, ensuring quality and deadlines are met

Develop drawings, calculations, and specifications that comply with codes and standards

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors across disciplines

Present technical updates to clients and stakeholders

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to professional development within the team

What We're Looking For:

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

8+ years of experience in mechanical building systems (HVAC & plumbing)

Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering

Strong project management and client-facing skills

Proficiency in HVAC software (AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, TRACE)

Passion for sustainable design and energy-efficient solutions

Bonus Points:

10+ years of experience, especially with healthcare and education projects

Experience with energy modelling tools and LEED/sustainable design practices

Excellent communication and mentorship abilities
