We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral scholar to contribute to the microbiome research in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (GHN) at the Department of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University. The Postdoctoral scholar will conduct research under the mentorship of Dr. Shanlin Ke, Assistant Professor at the GHN.

The candidate will have the opportunity to learn and lead exciting research projects that integrate computational methods and experimental approaches to study host-microbiota interactions in human diseases, especially pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. They will also have the chance to develop bioinformatics tools for microbiome data analysis, including applications of machine learning techniques. A strong interest in human microbiome research is highly desirable for this position.

The successful applicants should have a Ph.D. degree and are expected to have a strong background in one or more of the following fields:

· Metagenomics

· bioinformatics

· machine learning

· pancreatic diseases

· in vivo and in vitro experiments.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and strong publication record are essential. Strong programming skills (e.g., R and Python) and experience with cloud computing are highly desirable.
