Flight Safety Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Secret Flight Safety Engineer to site onsite in El Segundo, CA and support an exciting DOD space program. The Flight Safety Engineer will be responsible for evaluating and certifying real-time embedded code to ensure software compliance with the aviation industry to support certification of modernized GPS user equipment. They will review software and help create a system that will make a difference in identifying needed system improvements to support the government customer.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Active Secret clearance

Bachelor's Degree in STEM

5+ years of experience with development or evaluation of aviation software

Experience with software / hardware reviews per Radio Technical Commission (RTCA) for Aeronautics DO-178 and DO-254

Experience with flight safety certification

Knowledge of Technical Standard Order (TSO) program authorization processes and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and guidance

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience with Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE)

Experience with reviewing and approving MSO functional data per MSO-C145, MSO-C204, DO-229, or DO-160

Experience with Space Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) / GNSS Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) / (Global Positioning System (GPS) civil signals (L5, L2C, L1C) receivers
