Job Title: Commercial Loan Closing Specialist 2
Location: Chandler, AZ (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Duration: 12-month contract (with potential for extension or conversion)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Commercial Loan Closing Specialist 2 to support the transition from AFS to Loan IQ within a leading financial institution’s commercial lending group. This role is part of a strategic initiative to ensure continuity in loan closing operations while adopting a new loan servicing platform. The ideal candidate will have deep familiarity with Loan IQ, a strong background in commercial lending, and the ability to work with minimal training to meet service-level expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret complex commercial credit agreements and related legal documentation to ensure accurate and compliant loan closings.
Perform all necessary steps to book new commercial loans, including money movement coordination and system entries in Loan IQ.
Work closely with internal partners to ensure loan closings meet required timelines (target SLA: 3 business days).
Support transition efforts from AFS to Loan IQ.
Handle a range of loan types, from straightforward transactions to more complex structures, based on skillset and experience.
Partner with management to align incoming requests with individual strengths and capabilities.
Communicate effectively across teams to facilitate accurate documentation, compliance, and funding requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in Loan IQ is required (must be able to navigate and operate independently within the system).
Experience in commercial lending, preferably within a banking or financial services environment.
Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting commercial credit agreements and legal documentation.
Strong understanding of commercial lending lifecycle, including booking, funding, and compliance procedures.
Ability to work independently and contribute immediately with limited onboarding.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to manage volume and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to partner with various internal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in environments undergoing system transitions or platform migrations.
Background in supporting high-volume, complex loan portfolios.
Familiarity with hybrid team structures and fast-paced operational settings.
Exposure to legal documentation prepared by both in-house and external counsel.
