Role Overview:
As Director of Mechanical, you will be a key executive leader responsible for the oversight, strategy, and delivery of mechanical systems across a wide range of projects. You will partner closely with operations, preconstruction, and field teams to drive best practices, technical excellence, and client satisfaction. This is a strategic leadership role with a blend of technical, operational, and business development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all mechanical scopes from preconstruction through project closeout across multiple large-scale commercial projects
Serve as the subject matter expert for mechanical systems, providing guidance on design, construction, commissioning, and turnover
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design partners, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
Identify project risks and work proactively with teams to develop mitigation strategies
Mentor and develop project teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability
Support business development efforts, including project pursuits and client presentations
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in mechanical construction leadership within a General Contractor or large-scale mechanical subcontractor environment
Proven success overseeing major mechanical systems for commercial, healthcare, mission critical, or institutional projects valued $50M+
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered
Exceptional leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
Deep technical knowledge of mechanical systems, with ability to advise on best practices and drive continuous improvement
Familiarity with design-build and collaborative project delivery models strongly preferred
