Position Overview
This role involves leading efforts to strengthen the financial health and strategic operations of the organization. The individual will drive the creation and evaluation of financial strategies, partner on cross-functional initiatives, and contribute to special projects. The position requires effective communication of financial insights to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and provide leadership to less experienced finance team members.
Collaborate with departments such as sales, operations, marketing, and strategy to support and execute company-wide initiatives and forecasting efforts.
Contribute to financial optimization strategies, including reviewing capital structure and potential efficiency improvements.
Provide support for the implementation of ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics Nav or SAP, and contribute to the refinement of cost allocation strategies.
Partner with operations teams, including Plant Managers, to align financial planning with production and business goals.
Integrate forecasting tools with financial models to generate forward-looking financial reports and analyses.
Validate financial analyses and ensure the accuracy of key projections and metrics.
Support assessment of large capital investments and review potential acquisition or divestiture opportunities.
Build knowledge of capital markets and develop a deeper understanding of both equity and debt instruments.
Help improve the quality and depth of financial reporting and performance analysis.
Gain hands-on knowledge of industry operations through field-based learning and direct engagement.
Build technical expertise around the month-end close process and related accounting procedures.
Coach, mentor, and help advance the skills of junior team members.
Complete internal professional development training as assigned.
Perform additional duties as needed to support team and company objectives.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline is required.
Advanced credentials such as an MBA, CPA, or CFA are preferred.
A minimum of five years of relevant finance or accounting experience is required.
At least one year of leadership or management experience is expected.
Background in financial services (e.g., investment banking, private equity, hedge funds) is highly desirable.
Experience working with publicly traded companies is considered a plus.
