About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Finance Manager to join a growing manufacturing organization in the Dallas area. This role plays a key part in driving financial performance by supporting costing, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives across operations and finance.
The ideal candidate brings strong cost accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, and a background in manufacturing or food production environments. You will serve as a bridge between the CFO, factory leadership, and cross-functional teams, helping shape strategy and ensure financial visibility into operations.
Responsibilities:
Costing & Operations Analysis
Oversee and maintain bill of materials (BOM) and product standards.
Lead month-end close processes related to inventory cost and variances.
Analyze conversion costs, purchase price variances, and inventory losses.
Develop and refine “soft close” reporting for daily operational insights.
Partner with operations to manage scrap factors and cost drivers.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting for operations and raw materials.
Support ERP data maintenance and software enhancement initiatives.
Inventory Control
Establish and enforce inventory-related internal controls and procedures.
Monitor compliance with inventory processes and audit readiness.
Team Leadership
Mentor and support the finance team, promoting continuous learning.
Contribute to setting and achieving department goals.
Reporting & Ad-Hoc Support
Provide cost analysis and reporting for inventory and COGS.
Collaborate with engineering and operations for strategic decisions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting.
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, nested formulas, etc.).
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar ERP systems).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with Power BI or Power Automate is a plus.
Work Environment:
Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite in Dallas, TX + remote flexibility.
Occasional travel to local manufacturing site (Garland, TX).
Minimal out-of-state travel for inventory and planning.
