Description
The Engineering Technician supports a wide range of electrical engineering projects by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights that drive decision-making and project performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform all functions relating to overhead design in the distribution and comm spaces
Develop assembly methods and material lists
Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications
Produces complete PLS-CADD based designs
Acquire, review, and submit federal, state, and local permits
Adhere to client specific electrical distribution standards, procedures, and requirements
Apply correct design standards, codes, and requirements
Coordinate underground and overhead design for riser re-locates
Identify and verify existing underground and overhead utilities
Visit job sites, client offices, municipalities and other agencies as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, is preferred but not required
1-2 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within an engineering, construction, or consulting environment, is preferred but not required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data findings into actionable insights for diverse audiences
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and driven to complete work with minimal supervision
Initiative to look for new challenges and opportunities
Organized and detailed oriented
Ability to learn quickly from reading and oral instructions
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
