Global Engineering Scientific Solutions, a/k/a GESS, is a forensic engineering consulting firm with specialty, amongst others, in vehicular accident reconstruction, product evaluation, and failure analysis. We are currently looking for a mechanical engineer with a broad range of experience/interest in automotive industry including but not limited to design, manufacturing, automation, accident reconstruction, and forensic investigation of passenger, commercial, and recreational vehicles for our Palm Beach office.

Ideal Candidates:

1. Biomedical/Mechanical Engineer with industrial experience.

2. Ex law enforcement with experience in commercial vehicles accident investigation.

3. DOT inspectors and/or investigators experienced with commercial vehicles.

4. Civil or Structural Engineers with field experience in roadway design, bridges, traffic control devices, MUTCD, and OSHA.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

1. Assist with engineering and technical evaluation of contentions that are in dispute or litigation.

2. Conduct field investigations and perform evaluation, analysis, test, and documentation of incidents involving all types of vehicular accidents, heavy machinery, motorcycles, and mechanical equipment and devices including but not limited to passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, industrial equipment, such as presses, cranes, pressure vessels, and hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and gas operated devices and systems.

3. Manage projects according to GESS Process and Procedures.

4. Communicate with retaining parties and be responsible for retention and development of client relationships.

5. Provide technical findings in laymen's terms, both verbally and in written reports.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to drive short and long distances to and from inspection sites.

2. Travel in state or out of state for assignments.

3. Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site.

4. Ability to lift up to 52 lbs.

5. Ability to climb atop, crawl under and get into machineries or vehicles that are being investigated.

6. Ability to work indoor, outdoor, and in the sun, rain, heat and cold for extended hours.

7. Ability to work with tools.

8. Ability to listen and follow direction.

Position Preferences:

1. Interest and experience with working with cars, motorcycles, jet skis, boats, etc.

2. Hands on experience with working on cars, motorcycles, jet skis, boats, etc.

3. Experience in vehicular accident investigation/reconstruction.

4. Bachelor's degree or higher in Biomechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university.

5. Engineering and/or accident investigation experience.

6. Knowledge of automotive industry with hands on ability to diagnose failure modes

7. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

8. P. E. registration or EIT designation.

9. Forensic experience/exposure.

10. Certification or knowledge in accident reconstruction equipment and/or software such as CDR, FARO, Scene, PC Crash, etc.

11. Knowledge of graphics software such as 3D-Studio, Photoshop, Sketchup, etc.

12. Photography and videography knowledge and experience.

13. Adaptable to flexible working time and working hours.

14. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

15. Organize with proven record in time and project management skills.

16. Strong writing and public speaking skills

Salary Range: $65K-$75K annual salary plus profit sharing, and fringe benefits.
