Position Description:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist/Manager to lead and manage our safety and compliance programs across all operational sites. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization. This role is pivotal in protecting employee health and the environment while promoting continuous improvement in safety performance. Requirements:

Compliance and Regulatory Management:

Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal EHS laws, regulations, and standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.).

Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to proactively identify potential hazards and enforce corrective actions.

Maintain all necessary documentation including exposure records, hazardous material discharge logs, and environmental permitsStandardize and enforce corporate EHS protocols across multiple sites.

Policy, Program, and Procedure Development:

Create, implement and update EHS policies, procedures, and safety programs.

Ensure policies align with current regulatory requirements and evolving organizational needs.

Clearly communicate policies and expectations across the workforce.

Training and Communication

Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and new hires (e.g., PPE, emergency response, chemical handling).

Lead regular safety meetings focused on high-risk areas like machine guarding and hazardous material disposal.

Foster a safety-first culture through strong communication and visibility on the floor.

Emergency Preparedness

Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate readiness drills.

Ensure coordination among relevant departments and agencies for emergency planning.

Review and revise plans as needed to reflect lessons learned from drills or actual incidents.

Risk Assessment and Hazard Control

Perform workplace risk assessments and hazard identification.

Evaluate new equipment, materials, and processes for EHS impact.

Develop control strategies and preventive measures to eliminate or mitigate risks.

Incident Management and Investigation

Ensure prompt reporting and documentation of all incidents, near-misses, and injuries.

Conduct root cause analysis and oversee corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Maintain a culture of accountability and continuous learning from safety events.

EHS Strategy and Leadership

Lead the execution of EHS strategy with a focus on preventing Fatalities and Serious Injuries (FSIs).Partner with operations, HR, and plant leadership to drive engagement and accountability.

Help define EHS responsibilities across roles and departments.

8ystem and Program Management

Manage EHS systems including Gensuite, SDS databases, and learning management platforms.

Oversee the Management of Change (MOC) process and industrial hygiene programs.

Maintain up-to-date SDS inventories and ensure compliance in chemical labeling and spill response.

Continuous Improvement

Proactively assess EHS processes and drive improvements using industry best practices.

Monitor industry trends and implement innovations that enhance safety performance.

Support capital improvement projects related to compliance and risk reduction.

Experience & Skills:

Minimum 2 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Demonstrated experience conducting safety training and managing EHS compliance programs.

Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

Knowledge of risk assessment, hazard identification, and root cause analysis.

Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS data management systems.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, industrial engineering, or a closely related field

· US Citizenship of C1 Permanent Resident Alien status
