We are seeking a Principal Aerospace Engineer to own the design and analysis of innovative engineering solutions and guide small teams of engineers on customer projects. This role spans the entire product lifecycle, from concept development and prototyping to detailed analysis, manufacturing, testing, and flight.What you get to do!
Lead and manage projects, guiding a small team of engineers through execution.
Collaborate with customers to define project scope, develop schedules, and allocate resources to ensure successful delivery.
Create and enhance design and analysis tools to improve efficiency across multiple engineering disciplines.
Provide technical expertise, mentorship, and strategic guidance to engineering team members.
Facilitate cross-disciplinary communication to drive critical program decisions.
Identify key challenges, develop innovative solutions, and effectively convey their impact to both internal and external stakeholders.What you will bring to the Team Must have:
10+ years of demonstrated engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent education/work experience)
5+ years of experience in aerospace and defense, including work on aerospace development projects such as new aircraft, aircraft modifications, aircraft systems, and spacecraft
4+ years of experience in the design and analysis of composite and metallic structures
4+ years of hands-on experience with CAD and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software, such as CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, FEMAP, etc.
3+ years of expertise in aircraft external loads, performance, stability, and control Other Qualifications:
Moderate travel
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Significant experience drafting parts, assemblies, and installation drawings using GD&T (ASME Y14.5) best practice
Hands on experience with machining and composite part fabrication Salary Range
$147,000 - $220,000 depending on experienceThe BIG payoff

As a Principal Engineer, you will perform design and analysis duties and lead small teams of engineers on customer projects. This position will encompass all design cycles including concept design, prototyping, detailed analysis, modeling, drafting, manufacturing, testing, and flight. You will be responsible to develop design and analysis tools to increase efficiency across all disciplines and apply core engineering principles to provide quick and elegant results to customers. You will frequently use CAD and Finite Element Analysis programs to bring conceptual ideas to reality. You will be responsible to cross-collaborate between teams to define scope, develop schedules, and manage resources. To be successful in this role strong presentation and communication skills are a must.What you get to do!

MUST HAVE:
10+ years of relevant experience
B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or comparable education/work experience)
Significant experience in aerospace development projects including new aircraft, aircraft modifications, aircraft systems, and spacecraft
4+ years of experience designing or analyzing composite and metallic structures
4+ years of experience in CAD and FEA software packages such as Catia, SolidWorks, Creo, FEMAP, etc.
3+ years of experience understanding of aircraft external loads, performance, stability, and control
5+ years of experience in aerospace and defense
Other Qualifications:
Moderate travel
