Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator to serve under a federal IT contract. The Network Administrator will be responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining client’s enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of critical IT systems. This role requires deep expertise in Cisco networking technologies, WAN/LAN configurations, cybersecurity protocols, and network monitoring tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco Nexus switches, routers, firewalls, and network appliances.
Manage Layer 2 switching protocols, including Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), VLAN configurations, and link aggregation for redundancy.
Optimize client’s Modernized Network, ensuring 10Gbps, 40Gbps, and 100Gbps link aggregation for peak performance.
Administer Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) for data center networking, automation, and policy-based networking.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network outages, including failover procedures and incident response coordination.
Implement firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) to protect network resources.
Perform network vulnerability assessments, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity policies.
Manage VPN configurations, including Cisco VPN and remote access protocols for secure connectivity.
Monitor network security alerts from Splunk, ExtraHops, and Dynatrace, providing threat mitigation recommendations.
Ensure encryption standards (FIPS 140-2) are enforced for secure data transmission and network authentication.
Maintain server room connectivity, managing fiber channel and network cabling layouts for reliability.
Support disaster recovery operations, ensuring network redundancy between client location and data center.
Perform scheduled maintenance, applying firmware upgrades to Cisco switches, routers, and UCS Fabric Interconnects.
Manage Storage Area Network (SAN) traffic, integrating NetApp storage solutions into NIH network architecture.
Administer virtual networking configurations, ensuring seamless VMware ESXi hypervisor connectivity.
Utilize network monitoring tools, including SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, and Wireshark, for real-time traffic analysis.
Manage DHCP scopes, IP address reservations, and DNS configurations for systems.
Analyze performance metrics to optimize bandwidth allocation, latency reduction, and network routing efficiencies.
Troubleshoot VoIP systems, including Jabber, Microsoft Teams, and Unified Communications & Collaboration (UCC) platforms.
Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for network configurations, upgrades, and troubleshooting processes.
Submit compliance reports, ensuring network infrastructure aligns with federal cybersecurity mandates.
Provide network architecture diagrams, showcasing topology, failover mechanisms, and interconnectivity between data centers.
Generate monthly IT performance metrics, including uptime statistics, incident reports, and network optimization insights.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Administrator, supporting enterprise IT infrastructures.
Strong knowledge of Cisco networking hardware, including Nexus 9000 Series, UCS, and ACI Fabric.
Experience with VLANs, subnets, Layer 2/Layer 3 routing, and firewall rule management.
Expertise in VPN technologies, network security policies, and access control implementations.
Hands-on experience with Wireshark, SolarWinds, Splunk, and other network monitoring tools.
Ability to respond to critical network outages within the defined SLA timeframe.

ITIL Foundation Certification
VMware Certified Professional (VCP-NV)
Compensation and Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $83,900 to $124,700 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary is $109,500. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
