The right person for this position:
The Senior Estimator is a key leader within the preconstruction team, responsible for managing all aspects of estimating on large and complex commercial projects. The right fit for this position is someone who combines strong technical knowledge with strategic thinking and a proactive approach to pricing, risk management, and mentorship.

Location:
Denver, Colorado – Opportunity for occasional remote work when fully trained and oriented. Local travel to jobsites required (via driving).
Responsibilities:
· Exemplify the Carlton Core – purpose and core values – and support company growth with a “field first” mindset.
· Attend job/site walks with customers to understand project scope and site conditions.
· Lead estimating and bid strategy for large, complex, or high-visibility projects, including takeoffs, scoping, pricing, and risk assessment.
· Oversee internal bid reviews and provide final approval on pricing and proposal content.
· Lead design-build pursuits, conceptual budgets, and preconstruction efforts.
· Manage and strengthen client relationships through clear communication, reliable service, and professionalism.
· Deliver high-quality, accurate, and profitable bids and proposals aligned with company goals.
· Develop and refine scope narratives, pricing summaries, and proposal content for client-facing presentations.
· Mentor and support the development of Estimator 1 and Assistant Estimator team members.
· Coordinate and delegate estimating tasks to ensure deadlines are met and team efforts are aligned.
· Collaborate with project managers and field leaders to build initial project budgets and support turnover meetings.
· Maintain organized records of drawings, specifications, quotes, correspondence, and other estimating documentation.
· Gather material quotes from vendors and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
· Use Accubid and LiveCount to perform detailed, accurate cost projections and takeoffs.
· Stay current with industry best practices and technologies through ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications:
· A minimum of 5–7 years of electrical estimating experience is required.
· Experience bidding commercial construction projects up to $10 million is required.
· Proficiency in Bluebeam is required.
· Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, are required.
· Strong written communication skills with attention to grammar, punctuation, and professional tone are required.
· A demonstrated drive for growth, continued learning, and professional development is required.
· The ability to pass a background check and drug screening is required.
· Previous hands-on experience in the electrical field is preferred.
· Familiarity with Accubid and LiveCount is preferred.
· Experience with database management tools or estimating databases is preferred.
Reporting:
The Senior Electrical Estimator reports to the Vice President.

Typical office setting noise levels to be expected. Semi-open office concept.
Opportunity for occasional remote work once fully trained and knowledgeable about company and role expectations.
Frequent travel to jobsites, both indoor and outdoor with variable weather conditions, will be required.
Compensation Package
Location: Denver, Colorado
Start Date: TBD
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Schedule: Schedule: General working hours of Monday-Friday 7:00AM – 4:30PM. Flexible hours, but work may require nights and weekends depending on project needs.
Pay Rate: $100,000-$150,000+ depending on experience. *
*This pay rate is the good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of this job posting. Carlton Electric reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted rate if they believe the new range is determined in good faith. Carlton Electric reserves the right to adjust compensation based on, but not limited to, approved factors such as seniority, merit, quantity and/or quality systems, location, education and/or training, and required travel.
Other financial benefits: This position may be eligible for, but is not guaranteed, a yearly bonus.
