Application Development Manager

Location: Greater Denver Area (Hybrid: Onsite 50% over a two-week period in Broomfield, CO)

Summary/Objective: Our client is seeking an innovative and dynamic Application Development Manager to lead and manage our core development team. This role will be pivotal in designing, building, and supporting vendor-packaged and custom internal solutions that enhance our core banking platform (Symitar) and other enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and supervise the core development team across scrum teams and business lines, including resource administration, planning, and organization.

Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

Foster a supportive, team-oriented work climate that values diversity, promotes teamwork, and emphasizes quality and customer satisfaction.

Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions while adhering to coding, compliance, and information security standards.

Implement continuous improvement processes, seek user feedback, and analyze performance metrics for innovation and enhancement.

Work with external vendors for integrated solutions and stay current with vendor strategic roadmaps to maintain application architecture health.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

4-year college degree or equivalent work experience; B.S. in Computer Science preferred.

Minimum of six (6) years' experience with financial institution technologies: Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU), MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon, etc.

Experience in software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.

Proven leadership and people management experience with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and motivating team members.

Strong ability to influence executive leadership.

Knowledge of agile and iterative project management methodologies.

P

referred Skills:

BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.

Hands-on experience developing and supporting core banking applications (Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen).

Familiarity with IBMs AIX operating system.

Proficiency in SQL development, HTML, and JavaScript.

Understanding of the ITIL framework and experience implementing engineering processes and procedures.

Work Environment & Compensation:

No travel required; hybrid work model with 50% onsite presence in Broomfield, CO.

Competitive salary range: $115,000 to $145,000, plus an annual bonus up to 8% of salary.
