Power BI Analyst

Job Description

HumCap’s client is seeking a Power BI Analyst to play a pivotal role in delivering impactful data insights to business stakeholders. This position will focus on developing Power BI dashboards, creating SQL-based data views, and supporting the ongoing transition to a modern data environment in Snowflake. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data visualization and SQL development, and a passion for turning complex data into business value.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to business teams.

Write and optimize SQL queries and views in MS SQL Server and Snowflake to support data visualization and analysis.

Collaborate with business users to gather requirements, translate them into analytical solutions, and deliver meaningful visualizations.

Support the design and implementation of semantic layers and standardized views that align with business logic and reporting needs.

Assist in migrating existing reporting assets to Snowflake and ensuring performance and accuracy.

Document data definitions, business rules, and report specifications for transparency and maintainability.

Perform data validation and QA to ensure report accuracy and data consistency.

Partner with data engineering and other technical teams to ensure smooth data availability for reporting.Qualifications:

4+ years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics roles.

Proficiency in Power BI development, including DAX and Power Query.

Strong SQL skills with experience in MS SQL Server and/or Snowflake.

Solid understanding of data modeling concepts for reporting and analytics (e.g., star/snowflake schemas, fact and dimension tables).

Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Ability to clearly communicate data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Bachelor’s degree or higher.Preferred Experience:

Experience working with Snowflake and exposure to its data sharing, performance tuning, and security features.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams.

Exposure to data governance and self-service BI environments.
