We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer with strong experience in Ruby on Rails (backend) and React (frontend) to help us scale our platform. You’ll work on designing, building, and maintaining key systems in a cloud-native, AWS-based environment while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
This role requires previous experience in healthcare or pharma — ideally having worked on products in those domains.
Responsibilities
● Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs using Ruby on Rails
● Build out new frontend user interfaces using React
● Work closely with product and design to deliver high-quality features
● Ensure all systems and applications are HIPAA-compliant and follow security best
practices
● Manage infrastructure on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, etc.), leveraging infrastructure-as-code
where appropriate
● Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and system architecture
decisions
● Write tests and ensure high coverage across the stack (RSpec, Jest, etc.)
● Identify, diagnose, and fix complex issues across the full technology stack
● Continuously improve the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems
Requirements
● 3–7+ years of professional software development experience
● Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails
● Strong expertise in React and modern JavaScript
● Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
● Experience working with Redis or similar NoSQL databases
● Solid understanding of AWS services and cloud-native architectures
● Familiarity with security and compliance practices, particularly HIPAA
● Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
● Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
● Strong communication and collaboration skills
Bonus Points
● Experience with AWS security best practices (IAM policies, encryption, logging)
● Familiarity with containerization (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)
● Background in healthcare, health tech, or other regulated industries
● Familiarity with frontend accessibility best practices (WCAG standards)
