About the Role

ODA is looking for a talented leader experienced in developing, scaling and monitoring programs to advance quality improvement initiatives. The Quality Initiatives Division (QID) Chief provides strategic direction, plans, develops and manages comprehensive and coordinated technical assistance services and workforce development efforts to support excellence in long term care facilities serving older adults to ensure Ohio is the best place to age in the nation. This strategic thinker must understand and translate workforce trends and strategies for workforce development and quality improvement technical assistance programs, as well as maintain positive and productive relations with key external stakeholders.

The job duties of this position include but are not limited to:

· Supervising a team of high-performing professionals and working with direct reports on performance management activities.

· Leading the development and execution of a strategy that advances the Ohio Standard for Quality in long term care.

· Driving the creation and adoption of quality improvement and workforce development initiatives.

· Designing and implementing high-value educational initiatives that enhance long term care quality.

· Seeking relevant insights into long term care quality data and trends and monitoring state and federal policy developments and their impact.

· Overseeing the Excellence in Clinical Education Learning (EXCEL) Academy, a multi-modal technical assistance program for Ohio’s nursing homes.

· Engaging key industry stakeholders to help shape and refine system-wide quality initiatives.

· Advising the Chief Program Officer on emerging trends in long term care practices and policy.

At the end of the first year in this position, indicators of success include:

· Professional and inclusive environment among staff and peers.

· Expansion of the EXCEL Academy.

· Demonstrated impact in strengthening long term care facility staff practices to support quality of care and quality of life.

Ideal Qualifications

· Bachelor’s or advanced degree in public administration, hospital or nursing home administration, nursing, or related field is preferred with progressive leadership in a similar role.

· Excellent leadership skills in building, developing, and managing educational or workforce development programs.

· Effective in public speaking, writing impactful correspondence, and maintaining relationships across different teams, internally and externally.

· Demonstrated knowledge of nursing home administration, long term care services, Medicaid, Medicare, and Older Americans Act programs a plus.
