Finance Manager

A Robert Half Management Resources client is seeking an experienced Finance Consultant to lead an Asset Optimization Project for a 2-week engagement, with the potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in financial analysis and operational improvements across various processes. This project will require on-site work at multiple locations in San Diego, where the consultant will assess, analyze, and optimize resources and processes to enhance organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a comprehensive review of asset utilization and operational efficiency across assigned locations.

Implement Activity-Based Costing (ABC) to identify cost drivers and allocate expenses at a granular process level.

Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to visualize and identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and waste in key processes.

Apply Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) methodologies to recommend and implement measurable improvements.

Perform detailed cost analysis on discrete processes to uncover cost-saving opportunities and identify areas for optimization.

Assess existing space utilization and workflows to provide actionable recommendations for space optimization and space production analysis.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, align on objectives, and ensure stakeholder buy-in on recommended solutions.

Prepare and present a detailed final report of findings and actionable asset optimization strategies to senior leadership.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Proven experience in financial consulting, specifically leading short-term asset or process optimization initiatives.

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:

Activity-Based Costing (ABC)

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)

Value Stream Mapping (VSM)

Cost Analysis at the discrete process level

Space Optimization and Space Production Analysis

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and cost savings.

Ability to manage short timelines and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.

Flexibility to travel to multiple locations within San Diego during the project term.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working with organizations in manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, or high-asset environments is a plus.

MBA, CPA, or CFA designation is preferred but not required.

Hands-on experience with operational tools or software for mapping, costing, and process analysis.
