We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Monroeville Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a collaborative environment and possess strong general ledger expertise. The position involves supporting financial operations and assisting branches with their financial statements.
Responsibilities:
• Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries, to ensure accuracy in financial records.
• Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and financial data is properly documented.
• Support branches by addressing queries related to their financial statements and providing guidance as needed.
• Perform bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) tasks, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
• Participate in financial reporting processes, contributing to the preparation of accurate and comprehensive reports.
• Collaborate with colleagues in a smaller department setting, performing cross-training to cover overlapping responsibilities.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards while working independently and proactively.
• Leverage knowledge of construction industry practices if applicable, though prior experience in the field is not mandatory.
• Adapt to a hybrid work environment with four days in the office, contributing to a relaxed and focused atmosphere.
Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger activities.
• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and month-end close processes.
• Strong understanding of journal entries and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation within a smaller team setting.
• Familiarity with accounting systems, preferably those used in the construction industry.
• Effective communication skills for resolving financial inquiries and collaborating with team members.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
Compensation$60,000.00-$75,000.00 Yearly
