Reporting To: Quality Manager
Shift: 2nd (1:45pm – 10:15pm)
Salary: $37- 41/hr + shift premium
Role Objective
Primary duty is to conduct mechanical and visual inspections of machined parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies from customer supplied blueprints and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical inspection of parts including first article, in-process, and final.
Verification of materials and processes; and verification of certifications from sub-tier vendors.
Completion of all applicable paperwork (working to AS 9100 standards).
Performance of various other quality functions as required to ensure the timely delivery of precision machined parts to the customer.
Cleanliness of the work area and proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent damage or loss.
Assist in training other inspectors.
Related work includes calibration of inspection tools, and development and enforcement of quality systems procedures necessary to satisfy ISO, military, and customer specifications.
Perform other duties as requested. May require training in hazardous material handling depending on job assignment.Qualifications
Minimum 8 years’ experience in mechanical inspection.
Must work to close tolerances in a high volume environment.
Ability to perform complex set-ups for part inspection.
Must be proficient with complicated blueprints and advanced job shop mathematical calculations.
Familiar with all facets of inspection techniques, including CMM operation, a wide range of inspection and measuring tools, and surface plate set-ups.
Must be able to follow written instructions and to work with no supervision.
Must have strong organizational skills and be familiar with documentation requirements for an ISO-based quality system.
Must have the ability to read, write, comprehend reading instructions and documentation in English
Thorough understanding of true position tolerancing and application of Cartesian coordinate systems.
Proficient in advanced CMM programming using PC DMIS 4.2 or later

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods and move between different workstations.
Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.
Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, and other manufacturing conditions.
