Job summaryThe function of the Designer/Drafter is to produce, with little supervision, complete manufacturing drawings, solid models, and supporting documentation for equipment/systems to meet the needs of the Company.
Role and Responsibilities
Produce detail, layout, and assembly drawings, using platform
Maintain and update CAD drawings to reflect changes and modifications in existing projects and building layouts.
Work directly with engineers and project managers to determine most logical and cost-effective designs to meet requirements.
Revise drawings based on engineer and architect feedback
Work with program managers and contractors to facilitate the completion of projects
Ensure the quality and compliance of completed work by contractors and employees
Follow the Policies and Procedures of the company.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required skills/abilities
Expert-level solid drafting ability with AutoCAD or similar software
Experience with site development plans, grading, drainage, utility layouts, or structural detailing
Knowledge of Safety Standards and QA/QC procedures.
Able to perform the necessary mathematical computations to meet project requirements.
Good communications skills. Must be able to interact with team members, contractors, and project managers.
Knowledge of Industrial engineering principles is a plus but not required.
Education and experience
· Associates degree or diploma in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology or related Field
· 2-5 years of drafting experience in Civil Engineering or building construction projects.
Physical requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Sitting, walking, standing, stooping and bending to inspect equipment within the production facility and to inspect quality details.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Salary Description
$37-$48 per hour.
