Lead Intake Admission Clinician– Lake Behavioral Hospital

The Lead Intake Admission Clinician is responsible for managing referrals and service requests, conducting assessments across all age groups, and collaborating with physicians to determine appropriate care plans. They assist with discharge planning in coordination with the Director of Admissions and Referrals and serve as the primary community contact, offering essential resources and support to clients and their families. Additionally, they support the case management program to ensure seamless client care.

Key skills for this role include the ability to coach and mentor staff within the department, a strong understanding of auditing and quality control processes, and the flexibility to work on special projects as assigned by the Director of Assessment and Referral. This position requires a combination of clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills to effectively meet organizational and client needs.

Shift Differentials + a $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

3x 12-hour shifts: 7:00pm – 7:30am Thursday - Sunday with 1 weekend per month ( with flexibility)

INTAKE ADMISSION CLINICIAN QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Education: Registered Nurse or Master’s Degree in a human relations field required.

Experience: Preferably two or more years’ experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric hospital setting, including customer contact.

Licensure: Licensed to practice in Illinois as a mental health professional is preferred.

Additional Requirements: A working knowledge of the latest DSM and Mental Status Exam and of the Addiction and Recovery field.
