Responsibilities
Supervise, coordinate, and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices. This includes investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software
Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including evaluating system utilization, monitoring response time, and providing primary support for detection and correction of operational problems
Troubleshoot the physical level of the network using network measurement hardware and software, and by physically checking and testing hardware devices
Troubleshoot at the logical level, working with communication protocols
Participate in planning, design, technical review, and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks
Maintain network infrastructure standards, including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP
Provide technical consultation, training, and support to IT staff as designated by the government
Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure.
Develop and enforce infrastructure policies, procedures, and standards to ensure system reliability and security.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess infrastructure needs and integrate new technologies
Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively address any issues to ensure optimal operation.
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and services.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for IT systems
Coordinate disaster recovery planning and execution to safeguard critical data and operations
Develop and manage budgets for infrastructure projects and operational expenses.
Provide strategic input for long-term infrastructure planning and capacity management
Oversee the implementation of network security measures to protect against unauthorized access
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to identify potential opportunities for enhancement
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelors degree or seven (7) years of experience in the field.
Preferred Certifications and Skillset:
Microsoft MSCE, Windows Server OS, IIS, PowerShell, System Center Operation and Configuration Management
Microsoft Azure Administration
Microsoft Azure DevOps
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Professional
VMware Data Center Virtualization (DCV) Design or Deploy
Nutanix Platform Expert (NPX)
IBM BigFix Lifecycle Administration
Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) v3 or higher
CompTIA Security+ Certified Professional
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Security Clearance: Public Trust Tier 2 security clearance - Moderate risk (formerly MBI Level 5B).
