We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated HR Generalist to support and enhance our people operations as we continue to expand.

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist will play a critical role in supporting the firm’s day-to-day HR functions, ensuring compliance, enhancing employee experience, and contributing to a strong and supportive workplace culture. This role reports directly to the COO and works closely with department heads and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries and employee relations matters

Administer benefits, leave programs, and maintain accurate employee records

Manage full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Support performance management processes, including reviews and coaching documentation

Coordinate firmwide training initiatives and compliance certifications

Participate in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures

Process employee changes and payroll-related updates using Paychex

Assist leadership with strategic HR projects as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

Relevant years of HR experience may be considered in place of a formal degree

3+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a professional services or law firm setting

Strong working knowledge of employment law (NY preferred) and HR best practices

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

High level of discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Paychex required

PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range: $65,000–$75,000, based on experience
