Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges)
Some knowledge of the lapping process.
Strong understanding of shop mathematics, machining processes, and metal properties.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

This role involves operating and maintaining honing and precision machining equipment to produce high-quality components with exact specifications. Candidates must have extensive machining experience, an eye for detail, and a strong technical background in mechanics and shop mathematics.
Honing Operations:
Set up and operate manual honing machines to achieve precise dimensional tolerances and surface finishes.
Perform honing on various materials, including aluminum, steel, titanium, plastics, and other alloys.
Select and install appropriate honing tools, abrasives, and fixtures for each job.
Quality Control:
Use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges to ensure components meet strict tolerances and specifications.
Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and surface finish requirements.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to determine machining and honing requirements.
Machine Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on honing machines to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Collaboration:
Work closely with machinists, engineers, and quality control teams to meet production deadlines and resolve any machining challenges.
