The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Managing Editor to lead our content operations and elevate Cure’s editorial presence. Based in New York City, this individual will be responsible for overseeing all site content, managing freelance writers, assignments, editing, and publishing. You will help develop a dynamic content roadmap aligned with our brand and mission. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with social media, email, and marketing teams to ensure our voice remains consistent, credible, and impactful across all channels.
Reporting to the Chief Content Officer, this is a unique opportunity to lead the storytelling for a mission-driven brand that’s growing fast and position Cure to become the go-to destination for healthcare innovators seeking to network, learn, grow and advance healthcare. The ideal candidate will have experience in health care content, creation, and distribution to drive audience and increase engagement.
Overall Responsibilities
· Lead the editorial direction and content strategy for WeWillCure.com
· Manage and mentor a network of freelance writers and contributors
· Oversee content planning, editing, and publishing to ensure quality, accuracy, and brand alignment
· Collaborate with SEO, email, and social media leads to optimize content performance and engagement
· Proactively develop and maintain a content roadmap based on audience needs, data insights, and brand goals
· Drive cross-functional content initiatives, including campaigns, partnerships, and special projects
· Oversee and strategize content created from events as well as building and fostering an expert network of content contributors
· Monitor health media news, trends, scientific updates, and competitive content to keep our offerings fresh and relevant
· Ensure all content meets editorial, medical, and legal standards before publishing
Qualifications
· 5–7+ years of experience in digital publishing, journalism, or content management (strong preference for health or science-related media)
· Demonstrated experience managing editorial teams and freelance contributors
· Strong editorial judgment and ability to translate complex health-related topics into engaging, accessible content
· Proven success building and executing content strategies
· Comfortable working cross-functionally in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
· Excellent writing and editing skills
· Deep understanding of content analytics and SEO best practices
· Passion for health, wellness, and patient storytelling
· Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), Google Analytics, and project management tools
Please note that this is an on site position. Cure follows a Monday-Thursday in office and Friday remote policy. The office is located in the Flatiron area of NYC.
