A DAY IN THE LIFE

Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.

As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

Preparation of samples for analysis

Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment

Sample preparation

Determining the volume of samples

Cleaning of laboratory glassware

Maintaining clean laboratory areas

Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis

Perform instrumental analysis of samples

Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation

Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies

Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan

Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Requirements/Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred

1-2 years of experience working in a lab

Understanding of physical and chemical principles underlying why procedures are specified the way they were for each method with which they work.

Preferred Skills:

Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs

Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios

Strong attention to detail

Ability to write correspondence and reports

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.
