**Job Title: Forklift Operator**

**Job Description**

As a Forklift Operator, you will engage in various tasks such as operating roll forming equipment to produce metal roof and wall panels, ensuring quality by checking produced panels and accessories against specifications, and performing tooling changeovers. You will also program work orders, report daily production, and transport raw and finished goods using a forklift. Additionally, you will be responsible for packaging finished goods, actively participating in safety programs, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

**Responsibilities**

+ Operate roll forming equipment to produce metal roof and wall panels.

+ Quality check produced panels and accessories against specifications.

+ Perform tooling changeovers and adjust equipment to meet profile specifications.

+ Program work orders and report daily on produced goods and scrap.

+ Operate a forklift to transport raw and finished goods.

+ Package finished goods using saws and nail guns to produce crates and skids.

+ Participate in safety programs focused on vigilance and hazard recognition.

+ Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

+ Assist other departments as needed.

**Essential Skills**

+ Forklift operation.

+ Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience.

+ Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 inch.

+ Prior machine operating experience of at least 6 months, ideally over 2 years.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience with hand and power tools, including banding saws, nail guns, roll formers, coil slitters, sheet metal shears, and powered folders.

+ Familiarity with measurement equipment and ability to interpret tape measures to 1/16 inch.

**Work Environment**

You will be working for the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems, with a local facility that handles the IA/IL territory. The production environment is dynamic, based on client orders made during the day. You may be asked to work overtime on short notice. The facility employs around 15 production employees, with you being part of a team of 8 on the 2nd shift, which focuses on preparing orders for shipment the next morning. The dress code includes jeans, a shirt, safety glasses, gloves, arm-guards, and steel-toed boots (which you must provide).

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract position based out of Rock Island, Illinois.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
