Core Responsibilities

Provide therapy and therapeutic education

Develop treatment plans

Identify client specific needs and respond to crisis

Deliver services and support

Utilize empathy with clients

What will you be doing in your role?

Provide therapy services to veterans and their families.

Provide therapy to clients who have experienced trauma.

Develop, update and review treatment plans with clients.

Prepare progress notes, session reports, and document contact with clients.

Develop individual client goals and measure level of goal attainment for evaluation purposes.

Complete all necessary paperwork to ensure quality service and compliance with funding requirements.

Deliver services and support that reflect the unique cultural values of each client.

Understand what clients have been through as well as their various cultural backgrounds, and work to meet their unique needs in therapy sessions.

Prepare and submit all required reports.

Assess and respond to crisis calls as needed.

Adhere to ethical guidelines established by the Licensing Board.

Work cooperatively with supervisor and constructively receive feedback.

Operate independently as needed and exercise independent judgment in completing assignments.

Travel to and from therapy sites as needed.

Additional Information

This is a part-time, non-paid position.

This position requires at least 10 hours per week.

Are you the next Clinical Counselor Intern?

Enrolled in a Master’s in Counseling Program, or related program working towards Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC Associate or LPC).

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required.

Knowledge and ability to implement a number of treatment modalities in working with a broad range of clients.

Knowledge of theories relating to working with children and families including systems theory.

Transportation to and from therapy sites.
