ITC Service Group (“ITC”), is seeking multiple Light Failure Repair Technician’s in Kansas City, MO. The Light Failure Repair Technicians work both inside and outside the home and are responsible for the installation and customer experience of the new integrated digital TV, and high-speed Internet services. This tech position is expected to complete field serviceability surveys to connect residential buildings, multi-tenant structures, stand-alone buildings to our client’s network services. Responsibilities may consist of, but are not limited to, fusion splicing, CPE installation, and customer education. Technicians must have experience with CATV, CAT 5/6, coax, and/or wiring. Previous in-home installation is preferred with installing cable and internet or alarm systems and you must have top notch customer service skills. Technicians should be able to demonstrate knowledge of various electronic components (e.g., modems, routers, TVs, stereo systems and home entertainment systems) and have knowledge of computer operating systems. Also, must have a current valid State Driver’s License and non-negligent driving record.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Must possess strong performance, management, and communication skills to deliver a consistent message of performance expectations.
Experience with test sets such as Signal Strength Meter & OTDR
Resolve complaints with property owners in areas that you’re working. (Talk to residents & explain what it is we are doing).
Have the basic knowledge of fiber optic theory which includes fiber loss, connector types and the different types of fibers
Ensures all installation work is completed according to quality standards
Reports to Project Supervisor according to company procedures
Responsible for following all OSHA rules and regulations
Must be able to work flexible hours with the understanding that workdays can be in excess of normal hours and some weekend and holiday work may be required.
Ability to be “on-call” and “on standby” in relation to the workload.
Ability to complete on-the-job and/or classroom training in order to remain competitive in the telecommunications field.
Self-sufficient to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.
Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary
Work in various locations within the city.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screen.
Must have a valid Driver’s license.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
Installation of ONT, CPE, and power supplies. (when applicable)
Installations may require running or reusing COAX or CAT5 wiring. (when applicable)
Installations may require burying CAT5/COAX up to 50 ft.
Verification of service. (when applicable)

ATTENDANCE
Employee is expected to be on the job and on time every scheduled workday. Fiber Supervisor work hours can change from day to day. It is his/her responsibility to know when the work day starts and ends on each scheduled work day. If it is necessary that you will be absent or late for any reason, employee needs to call a direct manager by 8:00 am on the first and each subsequent day the employee will be absent or late. If employee is absent for more than 3 days a doctor’s note (explanation) is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
AA degree in telecommunications, construction management, or related field, or relevant; or related experience
CFOT/Splicer and/or CFOT/Tester certification a plus but not required.
At least five years of experience in field is required
At least 6 months of recent experience working directly with Fiber Technology
Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of Supervisory management
Knowledge of supervisory techniques and tools
Must have solid knowledge of Fiber and Broadband (DSL/Video) Installation, Map & Print Reading, Fiber Splicing, Cable Locating, electrical codes and standards relative to residential or commercial communications.
Must have solid knowledge of home construction and the installation of communications systems.
