Job Title: Field Safety Manager

Location: Lexington, KY

Start Date: May 28th

Duration: 2 Months

Type: 1099 Contractor

Since 1963, Sheakley has been a leader in safety management outsourcing. We are currently seeking a skilled Field Safety Manager for a fast-paced commercial concrete project in Lexington, KY. If you have extensive experience with concrete scopes and a strong background in construction safety, this is a great opportunity to make an immediate impact on a high-visibility site.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $47 - $49/hr

Per Diem: Not provided for this project

Completion Bonus: N/A

Pay: Weekly

Schedule:

Hours: 50-60 hrs/week

Days: Monday - Friday

Shifts: Occasional Saturday

Project Scope:

The project involves concrete subcontractor operations on a commercial build, including formwork, structural concrete, flatwork, and place-and-finish scopes. The Field Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily safety practices, enforcing compliance, and providing support across both vertical and horizontal concrete activities.

Qualifications:

BCSP Certification

4+ years of construction safety experience (concrete experience preferred)

Valid First Aid/CPR Certification

Strong leadership and communication skills

Able to manage field safety operations independently and collaboratively

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Conduct site safety inspections and daily toolbox talks

Lead new hire orientations and safety briefings

Monitor concrete operations and ensure adherence to all safety standards

Maintain safety documentation, reports, and incident records

Support hazard identification and corrective action plans

Liaise with site supervisors, GC, and subcontractor teams on safety matters

Skills:

Strong verbal communication and team coordination

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills

Ability to work under pressure in a production-driven environment

Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and safety best practices in concrete construction, including fall protection, formwork safety, and heavy equipment coordination.
