Job Summary: The Area Manager (AM) manages oversees the operations of multiple Grand Central Bakery (GCB) cafes while supporting GCB’s mission to serve our customers delicious, authentic food made from high-quality local and sustainable ingredients. The AM is key to developing the people, process, and accountability to help GCB cafés thrive. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and development of Café Managers; maximizing sales; and ensuring profitability. Inspires and motivates café team members to provide exceptional products and outstanding customer service.
Compensation: $110,000 full time annual equivalent plus bonus pay potential
Supervision: This position reports to the Retail Director and manages Cafe Managers.
Schedule: As a full-time, exempt employee, the Area Manager typically works 5 days a week with flexibility to adjust schedule around peak business days and special projects and may be required to work weekends, extra hours and/or days on an irregular basis due to unforeseen circumstances and emergencies. Time will be split between all café locations in the market. Occasional travel is required.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
A passion for delicious food and outstanding customer service
5 or more years’ experience hiring, leading, and developing managers
5 or more years’ experience managing in food and beverage; fast casual experience preferred
Experience managing teams across multiple locations
Knowledge and skills to analyzing profit and loss statements and overall financial performance
Experience with and enthusiasm for Open Book Management principles preferred
Proficiency in MS Office systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Retail Point-Of-Sale (Square preferred), and HRIS/ATS/Payroll systems with aptitude and curiosity to learn new systems
Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler’s card required
Knowledge of health department regulations pertaining to restaurants required
The ability to read, write, and speak English is required
Ability to travel between all locations in assigned market area.
Has and maintains a valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license with 5 years of driving experience and a driving record acceptable to Grand Central Bakery
Required to pass a company administered driving test
Required to provide proof of insurance
Required to provide a motor vehicle report annually
