My Client is looking for an Assistant Superintendent to work on a 5 year long infrastructure upgrade project in Newport, RI. They have been around for over the past 20 years making them one of the oldest and most reputable federal general contracting in Rhode Island and Connecticut. My client has been serving the Greater Massachusetts Construction Market for just shy of 20 years, beginning as a local roofing contractor and has now grown into a multi-faceted General Construction firm. They specialize in mostly Federal Construction Projects from $1M - $10M. They are very actively looking for a Superintendent to support a variety of Federal contracts projects located in Newport, RI for the Newport Naval base.

Description

As the Assistant Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful execution of various projects in the Federal space. Your exceptional leadership abilities, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to quality will contribute to the continued success of our client's projects. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals, collaborating closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure the timely completion of projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities:

Lead, supervise, and coordinate all construction activities on assigned projects, including scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and safety compliance.

Provide hands-on supervision and guidance to subcontractors, ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards.

Implement and enforce rigorous safety protocols and practices, fostering a culture of safety consciousness among the project team.

Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving.

Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and take proactive measures to mitigate them.

Conduct regular site inspections and quality control assessments to maintain the highest standards of workmanship.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.

Manage and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may arise during the course of construction.

Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies, incorporating them into project planning and execution when applicable.

Maintain the cleanliness of the site as this is an occupied and operational transportation station.

Profile

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction, with a significant focus in one of their sectors, Federal, Dorm renovations, government building renovations.

Proven track record of successfully leading and completing complex projects on time and within budget.

Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices, with a keen eye for quality and attention to detail.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Solid understanding of safety regulations and procedures, with a commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment.

Proficiency in construction management software and tools.

Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, LEED) are highly desirable.
