Pay Range:

The base pay range for this position is$23.53-$34.75 Hourly

however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Job Title: CDM Analyst

Department: Revenue Integrity

Reports to: Revenue Integrity Director

Classification: Hourly

Hours for this position: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Position Overview: The Chargemaster Analyst is responsible for maintaining the hospital’s chargemaster (CDM) to ensure accurate, compliant, and optimized charge capture across all clinical departments. This role collaborates with clinical, billing, coding, and compliance teams to analyze revenue opportunities, ensure regulatory compliance, and minimize revenue leakage.

Essential Functions:

Maintain and update the hospital’s chargemaster in compliance with CMS, state, and payer-specific regulations.

Review new procedures, supplies, and services to ensure appropriate CPT/HCPCS coding and pricing.

Collaborate with departments to establish new charge items and maintain accuracy of descriptions, pricing, coding, and revenue codes.

Monitor billing edits and denials related to CDM issues and correct discrepancies.

Conduct periodic CDM audits and charge capture reviews to identify revenue leakage or compliance risks.

Serve as a subject matter expert on coding, billing, and reimbursement as it relates to the CDM.

Analyze pricing and utilization trends and provide recommendations for updates.

Ensure timely implementation of annual CPT/HCPCS updates and price transparency initiatives.

Educate clinical and operational departments on proper charge capture procedures and regulatory requirements.

Partner with IT and revenue cycle teams to support system upgrades and testing affecting the CDM.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, revenue codes, and payer billing guidelines.

2+ years of experience in hospital revenue cycle, chargemaster maintenance, or medical billing/coding.

Experience with hospital billing systems - Epic

Ability to manage time, tasks, and resources appropriately.

Excellent communication skills with colleagues and customers.

Required Education, Licensure, Certifications, & Experience:

Ability to read, write, and understand policies, labels, and written instructions.

Preferred Education, Certifications, & Experience: (optional)

Preferred high school diploma or equivalent.

Certification in coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent.)

Physical Requirements:

Sitting: 75%. Standing/Walking: 25%.

Occasional lifting/carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.

Occasional pushing/pulling of wheelchairs weighing over 200 pounds.

Occasional climbing of stairs to reach other levels of the building.

Occasional stooping/kneeling to reach items on low shelves and to get into low cabinets.

Occasional reaching/handling to complete paperwork.

Constant use of phones and computers.

Constant talking/hearing/seeing to interact with patients, staff and visitors.

Environmental Conditions:

Location: Inside.

Frequent exposure to noise may cause distraction.

Minimal risk of injury due to proximity of moving parts on computer printer, fax machine and copier.

Minimal exposure to biohazardous materials.

Minimal exposure to drafts.

Travel Requirements:

May travel between the various clinics and the hospital.

May travel between Pullman, Moscow, and Palouse.
