Pay Range$23.25 - $34.25 hourly
Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.
Employees will receive a provisional salary set at 5% below the minimum rate for the position until the required Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) certification is obtained.

We Require
Two years of general automotive experience
High school diploma or GED
A combination of post-secondary education in Automotive Technology or a closely related field, or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Must possess or can obtain the necessary emission certification through the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) within 90 days of hire to perform emissions testing and compliance activities; obtaining this certification is a condition of employment
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire

Completion of two years at an automotive trade school
Job Contributions
Perform general mechanical repairs and engine diagnostics on light-duty vehicles and equipment, including routine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, test procedures, and cost/time estimates, within an industrial shop environment
Conduct advanced diagnostics and repairs on complex systems in light-duty vehicles, including electrical/electronic, braking, climate control, drive train, suspension, and body components by identifying faults and conducting targeted system-level repairs
Conduct road tests on vehicles to ensure the completion of the repair
Maintain service records and repair documentation, including work orders, labor estimates, expenditures, and project status, for input into the fleet tracking system
Promote and maintain a safe and compliant work environment by upholding safety standards, maintaining shop cleanliness, and proactively identifying and reporting hazards to leadership
Consult with the supervisor on vehicular problems and performance
Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment
Other job duties as assigned
Working Conditions
This position requires the employee to be in the office/field or customer-facing for all hours worked
Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly. May be required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods
Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel
Protective equipment required
Must wear job protective equipment (i.e., uniforms, safety glasses, and steel-toe shoes)
