**Job Title: Apprentice Service Center Electrician**

**Summary**
To the extent of abilities and training, assemble, inspect, repair, and modify electrical equipment located at the Service Center complex.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Assemble/disassemble, inspect, adjust, check, and repair electrical equipment, such as: circuit breakers, high voltage switches and disconnects, transformers, regulators, capacitors, lightning arrestors, battery charging equipment, and switchgear.
+ Make high voltage and ratio checks on distribution equipment.
+ As directed, make electrical connections necessary to perform voltage and ratio checks on power transformers and other equipment, such as current and potential transformers.
+ Inspect, maintain, and repair portable substation equipment.
+ Operate and maintain oil and gas processing equipment under supervision.
+ Connect and operate oil filtering equipment.
+ Inspect, badge, stencil, clean, paint, and repair distribution and power transformers, circuit breakers, regulators, and switchgear.
+ Inspect, repair, and modify power operated switches, controls, and control panels.
+ Inspect and repair electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic power tools, such as drills, grinders, sanders, saws and jacks; inspect and repair motors, generators, air compressors and pumps.
+ Perform equipment acceptance checks according to Company Standards.
+ Move, crate, and uncrate transformers and other equipment; rig equipment for shipment.
+ Operate, service, and maintain all equipment handling devices, such as: Forklift truck, carry deck crane, mobile gantry crane, and overhead trolley cranes.
+ Under controlled conditions, work around energized equipment under supervision.
+ Take and test oil samples.
+ Solder and tape conductors.
+ Take reasonable care of Company tools and equipment that are assigned to him during working hours.
+ Keep assigned equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
+ Report irregularities and abnormal conditions.
+ Direct and instruct employees assigned to work with him.
+ Assist in the training of other employees.
+ Perform similar or less skilled work in this classification, or when the diversity of work load requires, perform similar or less skilled work in equal or lower classification.
+ Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations and practices.
+ Complete any reports and forms used in connection with performance of duties.
**Required Qualifications for Position**
Meet the Company's requirements as to General Qualifications, and meet the following qualifications:
+ High School education or the equivalent.
+ Ability to receive a passing grade in all Apprentice Service Center Electrician Training Courses provided by the Company.
