Photonics Engineer

Essential Duties:

Prepare specifications, drawings, and technical documents per internal customer requests.

Engineer or propose changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.

Prepare work instructions and trains operators in making products with technical documentation.

Comply with government and industry specific requirements and standards by studying existing and new requirements and anticipating future requirements.

Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.

Research, plan, execute and deliver results for the assigned projects.

Identify, propose, and develop new technologies, IP, and products.

Keep up with new technology development and industrial trend.

Work with internal/external customers to accomplished results.

Requirements:

Authorized to work in the US.

Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or equivalent area of study.

Knowledge of the inner working of fiber optics components, modules, and sub systems such as couplers, splitters, WDM, DWDM, birefringent optics, optical attenuators, and fiber sensors.

Thorough understanding of technical concepts. Able to use knowledge, creativity, and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems.

Must be organized to create and maintain engineering documentation.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
