AI is the new frontier of development, and we are passionate about responsible AI and ensuring human creativity is protected while providing useful tools and processes for our partners. We are looking for a specialized and dedicated Senior Applied Scientist, Reinforcement Learning who focuses on applying the latest RL techniques to a diverse catalogue of games and game development tools. In this role, you will be working with a team to develop RL based solutions in a collaborative and creative environment with partner teams, helping to grow our capabilities in AI technologies.

What You'll Do:

Work closely with internal and external teams to define and drive the technical landscape of reinforcement learning integrations in our tools, pipelines, and game products.

Advocate for responsible and ethical AI, working closely with teams to build positive and safe systems for usage across our products.

Research innovative reinforcement learning techniques to craft intelligent agents capable of mastering game environments and achieving sophisticated objectives.

Design, build, and deploy systems for intelligent exploration of game environments to generate data about performance, balance, and difficulty of tasks and requirements.

What You'll Bring:

A PhD in Reinforcement Learning (RL) or Machine Learning (ML); or

A postgraduate degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience; or

6+ years of hands-on experience in the RL or ML field.

Experience with reward and behavior shaping, algorithm design, curiosity, and incomplete information games.

Conceptual understanding of game theory and information theory.

Knowledge of major advancements in machine learning and able to learn new methods from research papers or documentation to apply to our work.

Proficiency with Python.

Nice to Have:

Background in AI safety, responsible AI, or similar fields (e.g. constitutional AI, model interpretability, etc.).

Experience with game AI and/or RL with Human Feedback.

Peer reviewed publications or code repositories in related fields.

Proficiency in C++ or Unreal Engine.

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

Starting Pay Range: $153,100

Pay Range End: $229,700
