The Human Resources Administration at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an Employee Relations Assistant (Temp) to provide support to the Employee Relations team.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The Employee Relations Assistant (Temp) provides vital administrative support to the Employee Relations team, helping to maintain an organized, professional, and responsive work environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations by assisting with scheduling meetings (as needed), organizing electronic files, maintaining updated templates, greeting and coordinating with guests, and supporting the team in a wide range of administrative needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, professional, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Front Office & Guest Support
Serve as the first point of contact for the Employee Relations team by answering phone calls and directing inquiries appropriately.
Greet guests and schedule them to meet with appropriate team members in a timely and professional manner.
Manage the office calendar for appointments, meetings, and interviews as needed.
Administrative & Scheduling Support
Coordinate internal and external meeting requests, room reservations, and scheduling needs for the team.
Assist with the preparation and routing of documents and forms.
File Management & Process Support
Organize and maintain electronic filing systems to ensure documents are accurate, secure, and easy to retrieve.
Support efforts to review and update existing templates, forms, and procedural documents.
Help maintain shared team folders, standard operating procedures, and internal process documentation.
Team Operations & Special Projects
Coordinate logistics for training sessions, workshops, or other events hosted by the department.
Provide administrative assistance on special projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in an administrative support role; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Associate’s degree preferred, especially in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field.
Experience within Human Resources, Employee relations, or a higher education setting is preferred, but not required.
Prior experience in an administrative support role, ideally within Human Resources or higher education.
Familiarity with organizing digital files and updating templates or internal documentation.
Experience using office scheduling or calendar systems (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Teams).
Additional Preferred Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive personnel information.
Strong administrative and organizational skills, including scheduling, file management, and document handling.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook (for scheduling), Word (for documentation), Excel (for basic tracking/logs), and Teams/SharePoint/OneDrive (for team collaboration and digital file management).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees, leadership, and external visitors.
Customer service orientation, with a courteous and helpful approach when managing front desk or guest interactions.
Self-starter with follow-through, able to complete tasks independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with standard office procedures and experience managing calendars, forms, and documents.
