Stamping Press Machine Team Leader - 3rd Shift

Position: Team Lead

Location: Newark, Oh

Department: Stamping

Reports to: Production Manager

Shifts: Third Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10pm - 6:30am

JOB SUMMARY

This production floor position is responsible for leading the daily shift operations of the Stamping department within the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Leads day-to-day activities and communications of departmental production team.

Trains and develops departmental team on machine operation and leads employees in Continuous Improvement Programs

Provides timely and complete communication to cross-functional teams regarding quality or operational issues.

Makes minor adjustments to machines to maintain quality standards and start press up from a coil change.

Manages employee absences and employee performance.

Ensures Operators are monitoring and maintaining proper machine operations

Ensures accurate training of employees in proper job performance and technique.

Partners with cross-functional team. Responds to Production Operations and Quality Control to ensure product output meets throughput and quality standards set forth by Operations and Quality management.

Records down time, maintains production records, and other data entry as needed

Ensures machine area(s) are clean throughout the shift and prepared for subsequent shift

Consistently meets production and quality standards and works with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) in mind.

Assist with any other duties and projects as required.

Operation of oil filtration system, including monitoring of performance and relaying of process issues to cross functional team

Ability to perform all of the duties of the stamping operator

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong organizational and communication skills

Must be able to work overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice or on weekends

One-year prior leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting, and experience in a lean manufacturing environment is a plus.

Forklift experience

Can work successfully in a team environment and is able to both lead and take direction

Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure while standing or walking most of the shift

Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Computer proficient – Microsoft Windows based computer operations

Understanding of quality control concepts and processes within a manufacturing environment

Able to push or pull objects up to 50 lbs.

Experience in a lean manufacturing environment is a plus.
