Job Description
We are seeking an experienced paralegal with experience working in a corporate environment to join our dynamic legal team. Familiarity with personal injury and/or insurance defense litigation is a plus. The qualified candidate will assist with statutory and regulatory research, drafting correspondence, assisting with legal compliance, and managing contracts. The qualified candidate must be able to work autonomously with light direction. This position will be based out of our Rosemont, IL office but can work primarily remotely with visits to the office a few times per month.
Position Responsibilities:
Conducts statutory and regulatory research
Assists with regulatory compliance projects and calendar management
Drafts and updates legal forms and documents
Handles business registration and other filings, and requests for certified records from government entities
Responsible for contract management and Docusign account management
Manages complaint log and response deadlines, researches, and prepares first draft of complaint responses
Maintains and organizes the legal and regulatory compliance department files (contracts, research files, etc.)
Assists with trademark monitoring, management, and policing
Manages registered agent relationship and serves as primary liaison with said RAs
Assists with privacy policy compliance
Drafts legal notices, correspondence, memos, and other documents as necessary
Prepares responsive documents to discovery requests, subpoenas (including supporting Servicing Attorney), exam and audit requests, requests for production and supporting affidavits, and other document production obligations (including managing de-identification and/or redaction of records)
Assists with miscellaneous duties including proofreading, and compiling data
Handles special projects as assignedRequired Skills and Experience:
3-5 years of relevant experience with an in-house law department or with a law firm required
Familiarity with personal injury and/or insurance defense litigation a plus
Paralegal certification a plus
B.A. or Associates Degree a plus
Ability to review and assess contracts, complaints, and other legal documents
General knowledge of relevant state and federal law of civil procedure and privacy law
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent client/customer interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to learn and follow existing and new processes and procedures
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced environment where time management and flexibility is keyBenefits:
