Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice-President (VP) will serve as an integral member of the executive team and will be responsible for operationalizing our strategic plans. The VP is a highly visible and strategic executive with oversight and leadership across finance, talent and culture (formerly HR), facilities, IT, and office management.

The VP will bring innovative thinking and perspective on how the administrative functions reporting to him/her will operate and collaborate across the team, with other departments and with external partners. This leader will be a strategic partner and advisor to the President & CEO and will serve as a management liaison for relevant board committees, effectively communicating and presenting critical operational matters and performance indicators at board/committee meetings.

In close collaboration with the President & CEO and the executive team, this individual will be instrumental in the continued growth of BGCGW and work with Development, Operations and Impact and Innovation to implement plans to ensure the administrative functions of BGCGW are optimal.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Board/External Engagement

Serve as an integral member of the executive leadership team and a close partner to the CEO in driving BGCGW’s long term strategy and value proposition for Future Ready.

Develop next-level leadership and high performing teams through mentoring and coaching and ambitious goal and priority setting aligned to BGCGW strategic plan.

Establish vision goals for operational performance and processes for all areas under their leadership.

Provide input in business and strategic planning as well as process-oriented solutions.

Interface/lead the finance and talent, culture and engagement board leadership and committees.

Ensure the administrative team provides effective support to all program areas within BGCGW.

Lead staff partner for the BGCGW Foundation Board and collaboration with our financial firm partner.

Finance

Lead a planning and budgeting process to maintain a sound financial basis for BGCGW, supporting both short- and long-term needs.

Understand and lead risk management and mitigation with a focus on key elements of financial and legal risks and trends.

Drive date driven decision making through the development of key performance indicators and reporting metrics.

Oversee resource allocation and budgeting across facilities, IT and fleet services.

Talent and Culture

Develop strategies to attract, engage, develop and retain talent with the staff team.

Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, high performance and continuous improvement that values a commitment to quality and to BGCGW’s mission.

Establish a best-in-class culture for BGCGW.

Ensure that BGCGW has strong plans in place for training, recognition, and benefits to attract and retain top talent.

Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years’ experience of senior leadership with an oversight of finance, human resources, facilities/operations management and IT. Boys & Girls Clubs or similar youth development organization experience is preferred, with at least five years at a senior management level.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferrable in finance/accounting is required. A master’s degree or advanced degree in a related field is desired.

Strategic and creative thinking skills with the ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines. Comfortable managing with ambiguity.

Leadership skills required to define and clearly communicate BGCGW’s vision and infuse with fresh and innovative ideology and functional oversight.

Experience translating strategic thinking into operational success, experience setting and measuring performance against targets with complex organization within an evolving environment. The ability to adapt plans as new opportunities and challenges emerge using advanced problem-solving and process improvement skills.

Experience with budget preparation to include accrual and cash basis budgeting/reporting, financial controls/planning, proactive financial management. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (GAAP) and regulations governing compliance across multiple regions.

Forecast future financial performance and resource allocation processes.

Ability to ensure a timely annual audit process.

Strong knowledge of employee recruitment processes, benefits, succession planning, compliance risk, training and performance management and an understanding of the latest HR trends/benchmarking.

Effective problem solving, time management, conflict resolution and emotional intelligence.

Encourage a productive environment and a culture of collaboration and accountability while collaborating with department leads to manage the BGCGW HR policies.

A dynamic, proactive, inclusive and decisive leadership style. An entrepreneurial thought and planning leader.

Demonstrated ability to influence, persuade and motivate diverse populations including staff, volunteers and peers.

Excellent communication skills both written and oral as well as usage/knowledge of technology, reporting, data tracking and analysis.

Strong business acumen, confidence, executive presence and poise.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Requires the ability to speak, hear, and use a personal computer for standard business communications, and the ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

Ability to travel independently between Club locations and attend meetings outside of regular operating hours.
