Accounting Clerk

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Open and process incoming mail related to installment accounts.

Scan checks and prepare daily bank deposits.

Import online customer payments into the accounting system.

Scan payment coupons into the accounting system.

Prepare summary of cemetery business for daily cash control.

Prepare sales distribution reports twice per month.

File receipts and maintain organized financial records.

Assist with accounts payable processing including vendor and refund checks.

Assist with payroll processing for both administrative and field staff.

Post EFT payments and assist with EFT setup.

Reconcile bank accounts and assist with monthly journal entries.

Help prepare monthly and year-end financial reports as needed.

Assist with credit card reconciliation and online report preparation.

Respond to customer and employee inquiries as needed.

Maintain vendor files and related documentation.

Other duties as may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma required; some college coursework in accounting or bookkeeping preferred.

At least one year of relevant work experience in accounting or general clerical roles.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software preferred.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Effective communication skills in both verbal and written form.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.

Demonstrated judgment, reliability, and ability to work independently.

Ability to work the established hours of the position.

Familiarity with Catholic teachings and traditions preferred.

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform light lifting and filing.Company Description
