Job Description

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Worker to join a wire and cable manufacturer here in Sarasota FL. This role is responsible for accurately picking and preparing orders, maintaining inventory levels, and operating warehouse equipment. The position also involves operating machinery to strip and spool wire, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Picking & Inventory Management:

Retrieve and pick orders according to quantity and size, ensuring accuracy.

Build and wrap pallets with orders and position them at loading docks.

Re-stock inventory manually or using warehouse equipment.

Maintain accurate records of completed orders.

Identify and replenish low inventory items.

Inventory parts and place them on shelves within one business day of receiving.

Maintain 100% accuracy in counts.

Spool or strip wire to ensure proper inventory levels.

Machine Operation & Maintenance:

Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks (manual/electric), and other warehouse machinery.

Set up and operate wire stripping and spooling machines.

Thread wire through distributors and tension guides, securing ends as needed.

Monitor machine operations, adjusting controls to maintain proper conditions.

Cut wire to specified lengths using wire cutters.

Maintain equipment and report malfunctions to management.

Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.

Add chemicals to machines as required to maintain solution levels and concentrations.

Drain, clean, and refill machines at designated intervals.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

One year of warehouse experience.

Forklift or pallet-jack certification preferred.

Basic computer knowledge required.

Knowledge of warehousing processes, machines, and tools.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.

Proficient with software and able to learn warehouse management systems.

Familiar with warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.

Ability to read, write, and follow basic English instructions.

Physical Requirements & Job Hazards:

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Lift or move up to 50 lbs.; over 50 lbs. with equipment assistance.

Perform physical activities such as bending, lifting, and grasping objects.
