Press Brake Operator

Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Maintaining tools associated with the forming processes

· Following process sheets and communicating discrepancies to supervision

· Setting-up and breaking down press brake equipment with proper tooling

· Notifying management of any shortages, quality issues or repairs needed on assigned equipment

· Operating pallet jack and forklift equipment

· Reading and understanding prints and drawings

· Reading calipers

· Updating work orders and pallet tags

· Updating skid tags and moving parts to proper areas

· Using and locating different metals and knowing how to scrap parts

· Knowing the quality system, buy-off procedures, AQL, peer review inspections and how to record entries

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to read and comprehend standard instructions, short correspondence, and memos; including safety, instructional and procedural manuals

· Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in the setup and operation of press brake equipment

· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

· Ability to present information in one-on-one and group situations with fellow employees and customers

· Ability to make basic mathematical calculations related to daily job functions

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables

· Ability to apply commonsense in understanding and carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceCompany Description
