Position Title:
Fraud Analyst
Reports To:
Fraud Manager
Basic Function:
Assist in the execution of fraud prevention, reduction, detection, investigation, and resolution within the Credit Union.
Responsibilities:
• Effectively communicate with employees regarding suspected or reported fraudulent activity and assist with fraud related questions.
• Assist with fraud investigations by conducting interviews, collecting data, compiling documentation and evidence, maintaining accurate case notes, and developing initial and ongoing reports of investigations.
• Assist in the completion of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), the preparation of Bond Claims, case documentation, and correspondence.
• Execute internal processes established to comply with BSA/AML, OFAC and NCUA regulations and guidelines related to fraud, identity theft, and financial crime.
• Monitor each case’s progress and assists in preparing monthly progress summary reports. Maintain working relationships with and contact information of law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
• Stay educated and informed on all methods of fraud, including trending scams and emerging trends.
• Adhere to all Red River Employees Federal Credit Union policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Experience in a financial institution with knowledge of fraud preferred.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Competent computer skills and use of standard office equipment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of personal computer software applications, especially Microsoft Office.
• Mature, positive, focused attitude.
• Comfortable with multiple priorities and deadlines, and able to work in a highly stressful environment.
• Must possess excellent human relations and communication skills, a professional demeanor, and organizational skills.
• Outgoing personality with the ability to meet, speak, and deal effectively with people, being professional at all times.
• Must maintain a neat and professional appearance.
