Job SummaryThe Program Coordinator, Financial Aid supports the Assistant Director of Processing and the verification team with reviewing awards, updating attendance patterns, rescheduling and canceling federal financial aid, originating federal student loans, and certifying private student loans. Under supervision, the Program Coordinator develops program processes, policies, methods, and expected results within the parameters of established federal, state, college, or funding requirements. This position works closely with college partner staff to resolve issues on student accounts in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Financial Aid Processing and Coordination
Coordinates and processes revision forms to adjust offered federal aid. Processes and reviews Parent PLUS loan applications, and awards eligible aid. Reviews, certifies, and sets disbursement amounts for private loans.
Returns federal and private aid as needed.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures regarding financial aid.
Tracks and maintains records for operational financial aid data to inform strategic decisions, as well as supporting aid processing and disbursements in various areas as needed.
Analyzes results and advises on developing and/or implementing program processes, policies, and methods.
Reviews default, bankruptcy, and overpayment documents to resolve issues.
Verifies student documentation compared to FAFSA data.
Updates the FAFSA data using federal system.
Resolves conflicting information according to federal regulations.
Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in financial aid.
Administrative
Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations as well as institutional policies and procedures.
Coordinates document imaging and preservation in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Completes and maintains required documentation.
Keeps accurate records.
Maintains confidentiality of student files and other sensitive subject matter.
Collects and maintains student contact for reporting purposes.
Ensures all documents and data are entered appropriately in electronic processing systems and student records.
Building Partnerships
Serves as a liaison to the College community and external contacts and responds to inquiries pertaining to financial aid and any required information on behalf of students.
Organizes, coordinates, and responds to student inquiries escalated by campus partners, ensuring prompt and helpful responses.
Answers basic inquiries from students and parents regarding financial aid.
Assists students via email and/or phone to resolve issues pertaining to Financial Aid awarding and verification.
Assists college partners, such as Student Central and the Telephone Information Center staff, to resolve issues on student accounts in a timely manner.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Attends all required department meetings and training.
Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity while meeting federal as well as internal regulations and procedures, with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partners.
Hours may include working outside of a normal workweek schedule as needed to meet workload demands, including working in multiple locations.
Provides assistance as needed during peak periods, including occasional evening and/or Saturday morning shifts.
Schedule: Expected regular hours for this full-time position are M. T, W, Th, - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, and F - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
