Quality Engineer

Arconic is currently in search of a Quality Engineer to join our Building and Construction business based in Cranberry Township, PA.

Job Summary:

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for quality systems & procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans, and continuous improvement initiatives specific to assigned customers/product. Additionally, this role will manage a group of quality employees and be expected to provide leadership, coaching and clear direction to ensure people are working safely, meeting customer demands, solving problems, eliminating waste, and meeting goals.

Responsibilities

Develop and establish quality systems and procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans and continuous improvement initiatives specific to assigned customers/product;

Provide data analytics to the facility and quality;

Ensure that all documentation, Certification/Inspection Reports, marking, packaging, source inspection and applicable Supplier Source Release are identified and acceptable;

Review and maintain all assigned customer quality documents and specifications;

Interface and/or work closely with all personnel on procedural issues involving design, methods, tooling, cost and other areas involved in the control of product quality;

Participate in the development and implementation of quality related policies and procedures based on corporate and government/customer requirements;

Participate in failure analysis and corrective action investigations and assist in the timely dispositioning and processing of nonconforming material;

Make recommendations to management on the implementation of process improvements on assigned program(s) or product area(s);

Act as liaison for the company in coordinating and resolving customer and supplier complaints and concerns, relative to quality performance, investigations, system audits, and corrective actions;

Participate as assigned on Process Improvement Teams or other Continuous Improvement Groups;

Prepare periodic and special reports on quality statistics and other related quality issues on assigned program(s) or product area(s);

Review manufacturing planning (work orders), methods and process specifications as they relate to assuring product quality;

Respond to customer Corrective Action Request in a timely manner, by investigating and determining root cause and corrective/preventive measures to eliminate deficiencies;

Coordinate team efforts to resolve issues and monitor trends;

Manage quality employees to ensure safety, quality, and work expectations are being met. Complete employee performance reviews and disciplinary action when appropriate.

Perform internal audits/surveys, where applicable, to assure compliance to specific quality/customer requirements. Audit and validate Statistical Process Control data and procedures for assigned program(s) or product area(s);

Initiate Corrective Action Requests and monitors follow-up for effective closure and elimination of identified deficiencies.

All other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM or Business field from an accredited institution

• 1 year of experience in quality or manufacturing work

• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Quality Engineering

• Supervisory experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Experience in SQL and/or database programming

About the Team

Our Kawneer plant is located in Cranberry Township, PA which is about 30 minutes north of Pittsburgh, PA. This location has continuously built our products here since the early 1970s and we have a long legacy of products we've manufactured including the windows for the crown of the Statue of Liberty. Currently we supply commercial windows and aluminum sticks to companies nationwide. We are easily accessible being surrounding by many major highways as well as have many popular shopping, recreation, and dining options.
